You can watch Kevin Love play when you purchase Timberwolves Tickets today.

Darko Milicic had 13 points in a spot start for the injured Nikola Pekovic and Michael Beasley scored all nine of his points in the fourth quarter for the Wolves.

Blake Griffin had 26 points and 12 rebounds, but scored just four in the final period for the Clippers. Mo Williams scored 19 points for Los Angeles, which outrebounded Minnesota 52-43. Three of the Clippers’ 14 losses this season have come to Minnesota.

Chris Paul had a chance to tie the game with 2.7 seconds left, but he missed the third of three free throws and Ricky Rubio corralled the rebound.

But the game belonged to Love.

He scored on a jumper in Kenyon Martin’s face and on a bulldozing layup to give the Wolves just enough to hold on in another statement performance. Love scored 42 against long-time nemesis LaMarcus Aldridge and the Trail Blazers on Saturday night and dominated another of his competitors for the label of best power forward in the game on Monday night. He made 5 of 10 3-pointers and scored on a tip-dunk and a tough layup in the fourth quarter to help hold off the Clippers.

Griffin, meanwhile, missed two big free throws with three minutes to go and picked up a costly technical foul from Ken Mauer. Martin also picked up a technical for jawing at Mauer.

Paul finished with 18 points and Derrick Williams scored 15 for Minnesota. The Timberwolves were playing without starting center Nikola Pekovic, their tough guy in the middle who was out with a sore right foot.

They could have used their enforcer against the Clippers in a game that grew more physical as it went on. Every drive to the basket was met with a shot to the ribs, every screen set aimed at rattling a tooth or two loose, every jump shot contested with a hand in the face, and maybe more.

Fresh off his 42-point game that snapped a 16-game losing streak to the Trail Blazers on Saturday night, Love scored 11 straight in the first quarter to get the Wolves going. He hit three 3-pointers in the surge to ignite a 17-2 run that put Minnesota in control.

The Wolves led by 15 early in the second before the Clippers, who were playing the second night of a back-to-back that began with an overtime win at Houston, started to shove back. They got physical with Love down low, banging him around with Griffin, Reggie Evans and DeAndre Jordan and Paul and Eric Bledsoe used their strength on the perimeter to outmuscle Rubio and J.J. Barea.

The Clippers ripped off two separate 10-0 runs in the final eight minutes to cut the deficit to one, 45-44, at the break.

The Los Angeles Clippers have been one of the worst franchises in American professional sports for decades. Now that they are experiencing some success behind the play of Blake Griffin and Chris Paul, they’re leaving their biggest, most visible fan out in the cold. Darrell Bailey – better known as “Clipper Darrell” – has been asked by the organization to drop “Clipper” form his moniker. From Clipper Darrell’s official site:

It is with great sadness that I must report to all those in NBA NATION that I have been told by Clipper management they no longer want me to be Clipper Darrell, a name that was given to me by the media because of my unwavering support and team spirit. I am devastated!!!!

It’s good to see that a little success will never change a truly awful organization. More:

I have been a season ticket holder for over a decade and a FAN for over 15 years and have dedicated a major part of my life to support the Clipper organization and it’s players no matter what the season’s outcome. Over the years (400 home games) I have gone to great lengths to show my appreciation and loyalty in my attire, the car I drive and in my very own home. I’ve taken seriously the mantra of being “Clipper Darrell” in performing community service, mentoring young children and my participation in outreach programs. I’ve appreciated the struggles of the team to overcome obstacles as I’ve done in my life. I felt vindicated for all the years we as Clipper fans have gone through trials and tribulations and NOW we have a team that can win it all. Yesterday was the hardest day of my life, I felt powerless as a fan, as I was stripped of my identity however, no one can take away my heart and the love I have for my team!

I’ve never been been a big fan of “Super Fans,” but that doesn’t mean I don’t see their value. It’s incredibly short-sighted and dumb to turn your back on the one person who is most closely identified with your pitiful team. LA management had no problem when Clipper Darrell was a sideshow who got them something besides negative attention.

They put up with his shtick for more than a decade. This is just bad P.R. Especially, when you consider that L.A.’s two biggest stars, Blake Griffin and Chris Paul have already tweeted their support of Darrell. These are two guys you want to sign long-term contracts. As nice as Los Angeles is, this is just more proof that these are the same old Los Angeles Clippers.

Recap: Dallas Mavericks Vs LA Clippers

Dallas didn’t play terrific D, but packing the paint and trapping Chris Paul made the league’s top offense very beatable. The Clippers — simplistic though their offense may be at times — are so incredibly effective if Paul is given any kind of access to the paint, so the Mavs walled it off (in part by assigning Shawn Marion to cover Paul) and lived with the results. Caron Butler and Mo Williams hit a combined eight three-pointers as a result, but the Mavs were able to prevent the more foundational play actions that would have set up a rhythm for the Clips’ inside-out offense. Defense against an elite offense is always going to involve some give and take, and though there were some breakdowns and plenty of surrendered perimeter jumpers, the Mavs were able to minimize Paul’s impact and keep things contained in the paint.

Jason Kidd was a virtual non-factor on offense, but that’s more complimentary than anything we can say about Jason Terry’s performance. JET had a few nice drives early in the second quarter, but both were met with huge swats from DeAndre Jordan. From there, Terry forced the issue with his shot selection, taking every curl cut and catch as an invitation to launch an ill-advised jumper. He’s a better player than that, and the minor shooting rut that Terry finds himself in isn’t helping matters. But Terry still has to take it upon himself to be a more constructive offensive force, no matter how many capable teammates are around to potentially pick up the slack.

Brendan Haywood has been getting some big minutes in the last few games, and he was the perfect big to execute the Mavs’ defensive game plan on this particular night. Ian Mahinmi and Brandan Wright (the former of which has gradually slid out of his role as Haywood’s backup) are both very capable and effective players, but neither manages to clog up the lane as effectively as Haywood. He has the strength to contend with Griffin on the block, the mobility to trap Paul on the pick and roll, and the sheer size to stand as a massive impediment between any Clipper and the basket. He was the most sensible option on Monday night, just as he was on Saturday against the Trail Blazers.

It’s very interesting to watch the process by which Griffin talks himself into taking open jumpers. The Mavericks were more than willing to give Griffin all the room he need to fire up a long two-pointer any time he touched the ball, though Haywood et al were understandably weary of the possibility that Griffin could use that open space to build up speed for a drive. As a result, the Mavs bigs would occasionally fake a close-out, or cut the runway in half with a few quick steps up — closing enough distance to prevent liftoff, but still encouraging Griffin to test his range. From there, one could almost see the internal debates raging between Griffin’s ears. At this point in the season, he knows that the mid-range zones aren’t home. He knows that the defense is giving him this particular shot for a reason. Yet, as so often happens on a basketball court, the undeterred nature of the shot is unbelievably alluring. There’s surely an element of pride involved somewhere in his thought process; after all, the space afforded Griffin is a direct challenge to his skill set, and by extension, his potency. All of this flies through Griffin’s head in a matter of nanoseconds, all while the defense braces itself and hopes that Griffin’s patience runs out.

I have had season tickets to the Clippers for four years now. I originally bought them because I wanted to see all the other NBA teams come in toLos Angelesand for the same price I would be sitting up in the 200 level for the Lakers. For the first three years I couldn’t give them away, even for a lot of the big games no one wanted to go. Now of course I have friends, relatives and yes even ex girl friends looking to go to the Clippers with me. I could probably go to a HOT night club with a shirt saying I have Clippers season tickets and pick up the hottest girl in the club.

That being said, without mortgaging your children’s college funds how can you score tickets to the hottest team in town?

Buying tickets from the Clippers.com? Tickets for this season are all sold out, as soon as they signed Chris Paul pooof all the tickets disappeared. I even got a call this week from my Clippers rep asking me about season tickets for next year, guess what my $300.00 face value tickets have sky rocketed up $500.00 for next year. I can understand an increase but for 20 years of a crap team and one good season almost 100% raise in price is a joke.

Buying tickets from Stubhub.com? Here is a true story about Stubhub, “fan to fan” is 95% BS! The truth about stubhub is the majority of tickets that are on Stubhub are “uploaded” by ticket brokers themselves. If you look at stubhub, then look at your local ticket brokers inventory you will see a lot of the same seats on there. I have given my tickets to brokers on consignment and I can see them on stubhub as well and brokers have told me they upload their inventory to stubhub. The other problem is Stubhub charges a 20% service charge on sale, so if you look at the end price of your tickets Vs brokers with NO SERVICE charges you will see Stubhub is more expensive.

Barrys Ticket Service, if you have been to a Clippers game in the last 2 years you will see Barrys Tickets all over the staples center. They are an “official partner” with the LA Clippers. The also carry the largest PHYISCAL inventory of Clippers Tickets because of their partnership with the Clippers. They don’t have any service charges either. They are great for last minute deals as well, they have fourLos Angelesoffices and one next to STAPLES Center itself 1020 S. Figueroa, Los Angeles, CA 90015 across from the Staples Center inside the Luxe City Center). If you have the “balls” you can wait till right before game time and go to their office and get great prices on tickets if they are available. I have done this for a lot of different events and games. They upload their tickets to Stubhub, so if you look at both sites you will see the difference in prices.

CheapClippersTickets.com is a one stop shop for Clippers Tickets. That is all that they sell, they also purchase Clippers Tickets. The have a smaller inventory of Clippers Tickets, they also don’t charge service charges either. They do will calls and pick ups at different offices down next to theStaplesCenter. They offer Clippers tickets usually about 5 – 15% cheaper then other ticket sites.

Scorebig.com – they are the new kids on the block. They don’t offer premium seats like dead center front row, they offer what is called distressed inventory. This is tickets that the teams cant sell. Usually upper level tickets at a great price, up to 80% off tickets. With Score big you get to bid on seats as well, lets say face value of tickets are $100.00 a ticket you can tell Scorebig.com that you would like to pay $50.00 per ticket and if they have the inventory for it you WIN and get seats at $50.00 instead of $100.00. Check it out, great place to get cheap seats, not the best quality of seats but great price of seats.

TiqIQ.com – I first heard of them being a writer for FullyClips.com, what is great about them is that they “track” ticket prices and trends for Clippers seats and all other Concert, Sports and Theater events. You can see if a Clippers game is getting hot and prices rising, or if the game is soft and prices are dropping. They pull feeds from numerous ticking sites to get this information, since they do this they offer the most Clippers tickets out of all the sites so it’s a great place to get Clippers Tickets. If you see the price is starting to drop on Clippers Tickets you can wait a day or so and see how far the prices drop and purchase tickets cheaper. On the Clippers Vs Mavericks tickets last night, prices on tickets had dropped as low as 30% from the week before. If your inLos Angelesthese are some of the best places to get the cheapest Clippers tickets, they are also the most legit. If your not inLos Angelesfirst look at TiqIQ, Stubhub, Scorebig then look for a LOCAL Ticket agency in your area and ask them if they stock Physical Inventory of that event. Just because it’s the age of the internet, dosent mean that you cant call them and NEGOTIATE better prices for the tickets. If they have PHYISCAL inventory they will be more willing to work out a deal with you then have you go somewhere else and they lose a customer.

Hope this helps you purchase your Clippers Tickets and any other event.

The Los Angeles Clippers is a professional basketball team that is situated in Los Angeles. It is included in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and is one of the seven members of NBA Western Conference’s Pacific Division. Their home ground like the Lakers is the Staples Center wearing red, white and blue colored uniforms.

They debuted in 1970 as the Buffalo Braves. In the same year they became a member of the NBA alongside Portland Trail Blazers and the Cleveland Cavaliers. They initially played as the Buffalo Braves and then as the San Diego Clippers before they were relocated to Los Angeles. The Clippers finished both two seasons with a win-loss record of 22-60 in the early seventies. In 1984 they were relocated to Los Angeles in California where they played at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena which was a few miles away from the Lakers play arena.

In the mid of the 1991-92 season Larry Brown was appointed as the head coach of the team in 1992. This move proved to be very beneficial for the team as they posted a finishing record of 23-12 for the season and an overall record of 45-37 during their career that spanned 13 years. Their advancement to the playoffs came after around 6 years in Buffalo where they were defeated by Utah Jazz during the first round. During the 2004-2005 season the Clippers posted a finishing record of 37-45 against opponents the Lakers who finished with 34-48 record. The Clippers and the Lakers both failed to make it to the play-offs but clippers managed an overall better record than the Lakers. The team included several talented young stars such as Alton Brand, Corey Maggette and Shaun Livingstone with whom the people had high hopes.

The team made several trades which included the trade of Marko Jaric and Lionel Chalmers in return for Sam Cassell. Presently the things are not going very well for the team but still they have a good overall record. In March 2006 the Clippers team had a 37-25 record which is the second best in the Pacific Division of the Western Conference. Amongst the players that are currently playing in the team are Mobley, Boniface N’Dong, James Singleton, Sam Cassell, Chris Kaman, Daniel Ewing, and Shaun Livingstone. Other players that are worth a mention are Lamar Odom, Michael Olowokandi, Brent Barry, Ron Harper and Mark Jackson to name a few.

At the start of the 2006 off-season Paul Davis was acquired in the result of a draft from the Michigan State University during the second round. The pick was given to the Clippers in return for the 2004 trade that was made with the Charlotte Bobcats. Other than that Guillermo Diaz was also drafted by the team. But Davis was officially signed with the team whereas Diaz was not as he opted to play overseas. Despite that his drafting rights are held by the Clippers. As a result they did not have any pick in the 2006 drafting.

Special Thanks to Los Angeles Clippers fans at LaClippersOnline.org.

Amway Center – Orlando, FL, 7:00 PM ET

Analysis of the Los Angeles Clippers
This will be the second game of a long 6-game road-stand for the Clips, and the first of those that will be against a playoff caliber team. The Clippers (13-7) are the surprise of the year in the NBA; their expectations certainly increased after getting point guard Chris Paul but few believed it would take them to their current place: 3rd in the Western Conference. Another win over a great team would all but cement the Clippers as a force out west this year.

Analysis of the Orlando Magic
The Magic have quietly gotten out to a good start, pulling together impressive wins over the Rockets, Trailblazers, and Lakers en route to a 14-9 start. However, their season has been driven not by their play on the court but by trade rumors surrounding start center Dwight Howard. Howard has listed the teams he would like to be traded to and one of them is the Clippers, giving us an intriguing matchup of the teams Howard plays for and Howard might play for later this season.

The Clippers just signed power forward Kenyon Martin to help with their lack of frontcourt depth, but still only have one true center in Jordan. Jordan has proven himself to be an effective big man in the NBA this season, though he has not yet been matched up against the best center in the NBA: Howard. The Magic always rely on Howard to come up big (and he must to take down a feisty Clippers squad), but the Clippers also need Jordan to put up decent numbers and, more importantly, slow down Howard if they want a win Monday night.

Key Statistics
Opponent PPG (points per game):
Currently the Magic rank 8th in the country in OPPG, giving up about 92 points each time out. The Clippers rank 24th in the same category, averaging 98 points given up. The Clippers rely on their offense and will have to get by a stingyOrlando defense led by, who else, Howard if they want to win at theAmwayCenter.

Clippers Vs Magic Prices
Magic Vs Clippers Tickets prices run from $18.00 for sec 218 row 14 all all the way to $172 for section 101 row A. The section 101 row A are behind the basket. With two days left until the Feb 6th game there is about 219 tickets left in the Orlando Arena. This is a strong game sales wise do to the Clippers playing so well and everyone wanting to see Griffin Vs Howard. Sales for the Orlando Magic have been soft this year because of Howard wanting to leave and the fans knowing that there is a very good chance the Magic wont go anywhere in the playoffs.

Prediction
The Clippers and Magic are two teams that are in places few thought they would be just months ago. The Clippers, before the Chris Paul trade, were thought to be a good but not playoff-caliber squad, capable of making a run in a few years. The Magic were thought to be without Howard, already traded to a contending team, and thus relegated to rebuilding status. Both teams have enjoyed success however and present an intriguing matchup for Monday night in the NBA.

A Closer Look at the Lakers using Advanced Statistics

The Lakers are 11-9 and only 1 game back from the Clippers (10-6). That is not bad considering the loss of Lamar Odom and the most winning coach in history Phil Jackson. But are the Lakers in a good position to contend again this year? I would argue no. Looking at the Lakers’ closely, it becomes evident that there are many problems at the moment. To begin with, the Lakers are old. They are the 2nd oldest team in the NBA (30.1) and only the Dallas Mavericks are older (31.5). The league average is 26.8. The Clippers are 22nd in the league at 27.6 years of age. The Lakers are barely winning games, too, as their margin of victory is 1.35. The younger Clippers are at 1.25.

In terms of ratings, the Lakers are 16th in Offensive Rating (102.3), just shy of the league average of 102.4. The Clippers are 106.1, good for 7th. The number of points scored per 100 possessions creates the Offensive Rating stat. Defensively, the Lakers are 11th in Defensive Rating (100.8), a bit above the league average of 102.4. The Clippers are 25th with 104.8. The Lakers also play very slowly and are 24th in the league at pace, an estimation of team possessions per 48 minutes. The Clippers are 21st. Therefore, in other words, a brief summary so far paints the Lakers as: old, slow, and defensively and offensively mediocre.

How about in hustle? Actually, looking closer at what should be the Lakers’ strengths, frontcourt play from their two All-Star caliber big men, Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol, reveals that they are either vastly overrated or playing far below their abilities. The Lakers are 8th in Offensive Rebound percentage, a terrible fact considering they are supposed to have one of the tallest and best front courts with Bynum and Gasol as their starters. Similarly, they are 15th in the league at Defensive Rebound percentage, which is again appalling considering the company they keep. To compare, the reeling New Orleans Hornets are 2nd in the league in Defensive Rebound percentage and 6th in the league in Offensive Rebound percentage. For most of the season, they have started Okafor and Kaman or Okafor and Jason Smith, a true seven footer. Bynum and Gasol are each listed at seven foot and are much more highly regarded than any combination of Okafor/Smith/Kaman. The Lakers are also not very good at hustling on defense, either. They are dead last at forcing opponents turnovers (30th in the league).

Part of the problem may actually be Kobe Bryant. Kobe is having a tremendous statistic year, averaging 28 points, 5.4 assists, 5.5 rebounds, 1.2 steals, 1 three, and 45.5% shooting (basically his career average). Even more so, these statistics are amazing considering the number of injuries he features. It has been reported that he has to have regular injections prior to each game. However, looking at his Usage Rate, which is an estimated amount of the total team plays used by a player, he is having an All-Time high year. Per 100 possessions of the Lakers,Kobeutilizes nearly 40% of them, taking a shot, an assist, or turnover. The next highest Usage Rate in the league is Carmelo Anthony, who uses 34% of the Knicks possessions. But isKobe’s extremely high Usage Rate paying off? To compare briefly, Lebron James has a usage rate of 33%, third in the league. However, the Miami Heat stand at 14-5 and Lebron James’ Win Shares (a stat which tracks the number of wins contributed by a player) stands at 4.7, good for most in the league. Granted, Dwayne Wade has been on and off dealing with injuries for several weeks, butKobe’s Win Shares are only at 3.1. Considering the gigantic Usage Rate forKobe, does his number of Win Shares really justify his usage? Anthony is perhaps even worse thanKobe, contributing only 1.6 Win Shares for the Knicks. Maybe he is right to take some time off and consider his role on the team.

The Lakers are 2nd in the league in total attendance, despite an awkward year filled with trade rumors, a new coach, andKobe’s divorce. Perhaps the spectacle of the Lakers is much more important than their winning percentage. The Clippers are 5th in the league in total attendance, which may still seem surprising since the size of the market and the large amount of media exposure, not to mention the gigantic mural of Chris Paul downtown. Whatever Magic (get it? “Magic”?) the Lakers are using the woe their fanbase is working. I urge Mitch Kupchak and whoever else to continue dazzling fans with the potential of the Lakers team and the potential of unleashingKobe. But I also urge Mitch Kupchak to not sign Gilbert Arenas. Because if you thinkKobe’s Usage Rate to Win Shares ratio was bad, just wait to see what will happen when Gilbert gets his hands onKobe’s balls. Take that however you will.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Just 16 games into their new partnership, Blake Griffin and Chris Paul are already capable of grinding out victories for the Los Angeles Clippers on nights when nothing seems to work properly.

They are both certain the Clippers will find their flow pretty soon.

Griffin scored 20 points, Paul added 18 points and seven assists in his second game back from injury, and the first-place Clippers hung on in the fourth quarter for a 98-91 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday night.

Mo Williams scored nine of his 18 points in the fourth quarter, and Griffin added nine rebounds and eight assists as the Clippers maintained a narrow lead throughout the final period despite feeling little cohesion on either end of the court.

“That’s how we have to execute down the stretch,” Griffin said. “It’s a good win against a great team. We shouldn’t be down on this win at all. They’re not all going to be pretty.”

The Clippers’ new nucleus is still learning how to respond to adversity, and Paul thinks this gritty win over a strong playoff contender should help.

“Sooner or later we’re going to learn, because these little opportunities can slip away from you,” Paul said. “We’ve got to build up as many wins as possible, and it feels good for me to be out there. I’ve got to keep the energy going. Every game means so much.”

The Clippers stayed atop the Pacific Division even during Paul’s absence, and they bounced back solidly from Wednesday’s emotional loss to the Lakers, but a tougher schedule looms for a franchise with just one winning season in 19 years. No team in the Western Conference has played fewer games than the Clippers — including 11 in front of sellout home crowds.

Los Angeles did it this time with defense, holding the Grizzlies under 36% shooting and scoring 24 points off Memphis’ 17 turnovers.

“We kept them at a low field-goal percentage, but they made us earn everything,” Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro said. “I was pleased with the way we got stops at the end when we needed to. Different guys stepped up.”

Rudy Gay scored 24 points for the Grizzlies, who have lost two in a row following a seven-game winning streak. Marc Gasol added 18 points and 11 rebounds on Memphis’ third stop on a four-game West Coast trip.

Gasol’s two free throws trimmed the Clippers’ lead to 91-89, but Butler hit a driving layup, and Paul made two free throws after a steal with 45 seconds left. Although Griffin didn’t score in the fourth quarter, the Clippers scored seven consecutive points in the final minute to seal their third straight win over Memphis.

“None of it was their defense,” Gay said. “It was us. I mean, they do have some long athletic big men that alter a couple of shots. But for the most part, we were getting good shots and just weren’t knocking them down.”

The Grizzlies had a day off after their loss in Portland on Tuesday in their fourth game in five days. Gay managed just 11 points against the Trail Blazers, but surpassed that well before halftime against the Clippers.

Paul made a four-point play during an early 11-0 run by the Clippers, who jumped out to a 27-11 lead late in the first quarter. Gay made a 50-foot shot at the first-quarter buzzer as the Grizzlies made a 14-0 run of their own, keeping it close into the fourth quarter.

“We couldn’t get any stops down the stretch,” Memphis coach Lionel Hollins said. “We were within three, and every time they came back down, they got it back to five. We never got a stop where we could get a chance to take the lead.”

Sports are an essential part of my lifes, and I think they can be a fun and rewarding activity for anyone. Since my early childhood, sports and other physical recreation have been an almost daily part of my routine, and this continues through today. I played three varsity sports in high school, one in college, and have won competitive tournaments in all three. I have been coached by professionals, including the coach of a previous top 5 tennis player. I have personally coached in three sports, tennis, volleyball and hockey, and continue to coach volleyball today. I truly believe that anyone can be successful at any sport; that’s not to say you can be a professional, but that you can learn a sport, play it well and reap the benefits, including the eustress might want to add a wiki or news article link here — not everybody knows what this is of a competitive environment, the camaraderie of teammates and other like-minded individuals, and win or lose, the satisfaction from knowing you played to your maximum potential.

Pick a Sport or Activity

Baseball was the first competitive sport my parents had me try, and let me say I was terrible. I was afraid of pitches, spent most of my time plucking dandelions in the outfield, and didn’t enjoy myself at all. No one is expected to be great at any sport, but why do something voluntarily if you are not enjoying yourself? It may take a few tries, but find something you can truly love.

If you are an adult, it may make more sense to choose a “lifetime” sport. Contact football is not something you can play into your golden years, but swimming, tennis and golf certainly are. This process may take a few tries, and may require going outside your usual suspects. Some people find themselves immersed in hiking, rock climbing, and other outdoor activities not conventionally called sports. These still offer all the same rewards, and should therefore be treated with the same regard.

During my baseball years I found myself playing roller hockey over the summers and really enjoying myself, setting goals (learning to skate backwards over a summer), and learning the game. I finally got involved with ice hockey in fifth grade, which is considered rather late for hockey. But because of my love for the game, I quickly learned the sport and how to excel.

What athletic activities do you find yourself drawn to? With this question in mind, observe your habits and thoughts for a few weeks, and the answer will quickly become obvious.

Get Competitive!

As mentioned in the book Mind Gym, there is no substitute for actual competitive play. Many coaches encourage “game-like” activities for practice, as these apply pressure similar to what you experience during a game. However, there is no substitute for the critical situation when all the pressure to perform is on your shoulders. How can practice prepare you for such a situation? It can’t. You can be confident in your skills, but highs and lows of actual competition are second to none. The only way to improve is to keep placing yourself in competitive situations.

Final Words

Don’t be afraid to try a new sport. There is a good chance that if you are having difficulty with your current sport, you will be better at another. Roger Federer could have just played soccer, but now he’s a tennis legend.

Neverscreamor be too critical with your teammates. Be loose and give your teammates the benefit of the doubt. You could have been the one in a bad situation in which case you would have wanted people to be understanding and supportive.

In the last 10 days, the Clippers have taken down the Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks. Even without the services of star point guard Chris Paul, other players have stepped up to fill the void.

Chauncey Billups and Mo Williams have played great recently, and Blake Griffin continues to be a force.

However, the Timberwolves got the best of the Clippers Friday night.

The Clippers led the T’wolves for most of the game, but Minnesota never gave up. Late in the fourth quarter, the Timberwolves began to mount a comeback, and when the Clippers’ Williams was ejected for his second technical of the night, the Wolves took advantage.

The Clippers looked like a different team after Williams’ ejection. Shots stopped falling for Los Angeles and Minnesota seemed to hit everything they tossed up. Ricky Rubio only had nine points on the night, but more than half of those came in the last few minutes of the fourth.

The Clippers, meanwhile, managed just two points in the final three-and-a-half minutes of the game. Rubio, Love and the Timberwolves took advantage of the Clippers’ miscues, while capitalizing on their own opportunities.
